Mom & Son: RTW Monthly Budget – Cambodia March 2016
4 Weeks in Cambodia – How much did we spend ?
This month in Cambodia we spent $4,100 which is $1,000 more than last month in Thailand.
I think Cambodia was a bit more expensive than Thailand because the currency for tourists is the USD which means everything is rounded up to the nearest $1.

How do our daily expenses in Cambodia compare to our daily expenses in other countries ?
Our accommodation in Cambodia was slightly more expensive but for most of the month the places we stayed were very, VERY basic due to being on NGO projects. Although the wooden huts we stayed in with the Cambodian Wildlife Sanctuary & Marine Conservation Cambodia had no running water and only occasional electricity the prices we paid were relatively high because that’s how the NGO’s finance their projects.
We alternated the basic huts & bunks full of “wildlife” with some nice hotels with pools to make up for the lack of luxury 🙂
Food was also more expensive because we tended to eat in restaurants because the street food wasn’t as good or as prolific as Thailand.
