ZZ Ninja Kid: Planes, Trains, Autos & Boats #10 American Airlines, DC to Orlando Florida
From Washington DC we were supposed to travel to Charleston, South Carolina then Savannah, Georgia but Hurricane Joaquin was wrecking havoc and everywhere was flooded.
We spent a couple of hours on an Amtrak train trying to get to Charleston but it turned back to DC and cancelled the route for at least 3 days.
Mama & I had to decide on Plan B, so I said “lets just to to Orlando early” 🙂 I think Mama agreed because its my birthday next week and I REALLY REALLY want to go to Universal and see Harry Potter.
We sat in Union station on the internet for ages while Mama cancelled all our Charleston & Savannah reservations and booked flights & accommodation in Orlando.
We booked a US Airways flight (but the plane was actually American Airlines, I don’t know why ?) from Ronald Reagan airport.
We flew nearly 1500km in 2.5 hours and it cost $270 USD for both of us.
By train it was going to take nearly 20 hours for the same price !!!!!!!!
Mama’s sad we cant go to Charleston & Savannah but Im thinking 20 hours by train was a VERY long trip.
